SMNJ-NA-PLAC bela krajina in art action!

Hello World :)
Previous few months I was participating on art markets in Bela krajina: Črnomelj
& Semič (my home town xx)
One of them was SMNJ-NA-PLAC (hmmm.... translation would be "outside market"? I guess, but in Slovenian has a bit different meaning) organised by Belinov štibelc - Belin's chamber.

Smnj-na-plac is a great way to introduce young / new artist to the public, plus people can buy some great hand made products strait from the makers.

I know, I was always sharing that selling on markets is not "my cup of tea".... but never say never and try things before judging them - and I LOVE IT. So there!
It is great to be in the room full of people that are creative, fun, loving and always prepare to help. :)

Check more who is participating at the next one (25.Jan) on Smnj-na-plac FB page.
Hope to see YOU there!

Before & After ~ RED COAT

When I bought another red coat the old one went on the DoItYourself list for reinvention. I decided to colour it in a dark red and put on some extra details.

Material you will need:
~ fabric colour + salt {for dyeing in the wash machine}
~ paper dolly
~ brush
~ fabric colour for gold details {I was using Perlen-Maker thick colour in gold}

1.) dye the coat. Follow the info on the packaging.
2.) let it dry and prepare the motive: paper dolly {you can buy this in any regular food shop - in baking section} or you can draw by hand your own design
3.) place the paper dolly on the fabric and paint the empty spaces with chosen colour. Be careful not to apply to much colour, because it can get under the paper and you will fill up the spaces that needs to stay clean.
4.) slowly remove the paper and add some extra dots, lines... etc.
5.) let it dry completely
6.) you can wash the garment up to 40C and also iron on reverse site

Before & After ~ PUFF JACKET

Hey ho!

Sometimes you just get bored with the clothes you have - they are still in good condition to wear, but they need a bit of twist.... hmmm, let say colour in this case :) So I decided to share with you few before & after projects that I did over a time.
For the first project I choose an old white puff jacket sitting in my closet waiting to be "hit" by imagination. It had few stains, so the main reason was to hide them and make it look more fun.

If you want to do something similar you will need :
~ colour for silk {I was using Deca & Satesilk}
~ stamp {I cut mime from the craft rubber}
~ brush

1.) With the brush apply colour on your stamp {first few prints try on paper or some similar fabric to know how much colour to apply} and let your imagination to do the work.

2.) Let it dry. Turn it on inside & fix it with an iron for 3-5 min {check the label if you can iron the fabric you are using, I couldn't so I just let it dry completely}

3.) Wash it {check the label on the silk colour you are using for more info ~ usually wash on max 40C }.

And voila! You are ready to stand out from the crowd ;)

Enjoy the process!
