Spring time!

It's spring fever. That is what the name of it is.
And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!
{Mark Twain}

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light,
and winter in the shade.
{Charles Dickens}

i n s p i r a t i o n

I was inspired today by this two quotes, so I created a little "paper art" that can be used like a card {birthday or just to wish someone a good day}, but if you frame it can be also as a nice "candy" on the wall :)

If I would give this to someone as a card... wouldn't it be nice if they can place it on a shelf as a regular card? I think it would be, so I bend the paper a little bit with the silk ribbon and... voila!

My "current" obsession... owls. It all started last year with my pink pyjama :) with this feather creatures on it. Then friend of us was staying at our place and for "thank you gift" she gave me a notebook with owls...
And the journey continued in the local second-hand shop and on my art work. Will I stop here? Hmm, probably not... ;)

Owl has also part in almost all shamanic cultures. Among others animals, they communicate with shaman - sometimes they become protector and a guide for the shaman. More about this kind of description of the owl, please follow the links... ;)

   Owl (Cailleach, Oidhche, Comachag): These birds were most often associated with the Crone aspect of the Goddess. The word "cailleach" in the Scottish-Gaelic means "owl". The owl is often a guide to and through the Underworld, a creature of keen sight in darkness, and a silent and swift hunter. It can help unmask those who would deceive you or take advantage of you.

Owl: animal spirits...

The Owl is recognized by Siberian Shamans as one of the great animal familiars, indeed Shamans with an owl spirit guide typically have powers of second sight and great sensitivity.

Different Similarities

We all talk differently, see things differently,
hear differently, think differently, act differently .....
the list of differences goes on and on.

Even though we're all so different, we're still so much alike.  Today, enjoy the fact that we are all different and recognise the similarities.

Recycling: chandeliers

I'm a BIG fan of recycling & reusing. There is so many possibilities to create new object from old / already used material. I was blown away when I saw this chandeliers made from recycled bicycle parts - chains inspired by old victorian era style. They are made by artist Carolina Fontoura Alzaga.

"This series addresses class codes, power dynamics, reclaimed agency, and ecological responsibility. The traditional chandelier is seen as a bourgeois commodity, a cachet of affluence, excess, and as such power. The recycled bicycle parts become a representation of the dismissed, invisible, and powerless, but also an affirmation of self-propelled movement. The bicycle chandelier thereby creates a new third meaning of reclaimed agency."

Organized... {?}

Hey arty people! Today I want to share a bit about organizing all those colours, pens, ribbons... ah, that lie around the room ;) I finally realized that no matter how big is our flat I will be constantly challenged where to put all art & craft material. I don't have my own room / studio jet, so I'm currently using our living-dinning room as my creative space. I want to have things organized in a way that are practical for me when I need them and for "hiding them away" if we have some friends visiting or staying over... {well... with hiding I'm not so successful ;) } So here is a quick peek into my space...

But I want to share with you also a link from ECO ETSY blog where you can find some good ideas - tips about organizing your working-crafting space: keeping it all organized. Worth checking!
I would love to have that kind of space shown below...
